About the event

The Sustainable Innovation Camp is a 3-day case challenge where you work in a team to solve a case provided by a company.

During the days you will learn about innovation tools and gain team working skills, while working on solving a real-life problem, closely connected to a company.

Participation is free of charge, and food and drinks will be provided.

By providing participants with a blend of classroom learning and practical experience, we ensure that they develop both the soft and hard skills necessary to navigate the complexities of sustainability in the corporate world. Ultimately, the camp serves as a catalyst for preparing youth to lead impactful careers that contribute to Denmark’s ambitious green transition and global sustainability goals.

Renewable energy

Denmark is a global leader in renewable energy, playing a pivotal role in the green transition with its ambitious goals and innovative strategies.

The country has invested heavily in wind power, both onshore and offshore, and has integrated solar energy and biomass into its energy mix, aiming to be entirely fossil-free by 2050. This transition is crucial for reducing carbon emissions and mitigating climate change, serving as a model for sustainable energy systems worldwide.

However, challenges such as the need for extensive infrastructure upgrades, energy storage solutions to manage intermittent supply, and energy security play a role in the costs and implementation time of more affordable shifts from conventional to renewable energy sources.

This case competition invites participants to explore and devise strategies to overcome these challenges, ensuring a resilient and sustainable energy future for Denmark.

Work on your pace

On the first day the camp will start with a workshop on SDGs. We will also have an expert discussing renewable energy, and you will meet your teammates. It is also on the first day that 2 companies will present their cases and you will be assigned to a group to work in one of the cases. Food and refreshments will be provided.

On the second day you and your team will work together to crack the case and provide a sustainable solution to the company. Every group has its own dynamic and takes its own time to come up with a solution, but in general we recommend allocating 4-6 hours to your work. You will also have a tutor who will provide guidance and help you evaluate your decisions and progress.

On the third and last day everybody meets again, this time in the afternoon. The teams then present their solutions to the panel of experts and the company’s representative. One solution will be chosen per case and after the awarding we celebrate the winners with a drink and a toast.
